Sale Pending!

As you may or may not know, Mike and I have been looking at houses for probably the last month or so. A couple of weeks ago, we found one that we thought we liked and made an offer. We went back and forth with the builders a bit, until we saw this house for sale and decided we wanted to take a look at it before making any final decisions on it. Unfortunately, we had to wait 4 days before we could see the new listing, so we had to let the offer fall through on the other house.
But, I am happy to say that in the end it didn't matter, because over the weekend we put an offer on this one. We went back and forth again (waiting and waiting) and we finally reached an agreement yesterday. Unfortunately, thought the real waiting has just begun, because the closing date isn't until August 3rd (right when we get back from the honeymoon). So, now we will just be waiting and hoping that all goes well with the inspections, loans and all of that other fun paperwork kind of stuff. Mike and I really excited and we'll update with more pictures and information in August!

Memorial Day Weekend Fun: Bridal Shower

I finally have time to finish the Memorial Day Weekend post from before. The weekend fun continued into Sunday with my bridal shower in Massachusetts. Sarah did a fabulous job as the host with lots of help from my mom, Ashlea, Jess, Nancy and Amanda Frost in getting ready for the day. That morning Amanda Bowen and I met Amanda Wild in Portsmouth to grab an appetizer and hang out before heading to the shower (I was not allowed to get there until 2:30 - some secret stuff going on). I also took this opportunity to have a little sangria to ease the nerves! It was great to see everyone there - including people I hadn't seen in a LONG time. It made me really excited about seeing everyone on the big day! There was lots of great food, a few games, lots of gifts and a beautiful, a slideshow and a delicious cake. It was an amazing day and I am very blessed. Thank you to all of the guests and those involved with the planning and execution of the wonderful celebration! Below is a slideshow of some of the pictures from the shower.

Memorial Day Weekend Fun: Owen's Birthday

We had a very, very busy Memorial Day Weekend. Friday I went to Boston with my team of teachers to plan our end of the year trip for the students on June 5th. It was a laughter filled day as usual. Then Saturday Amanda B and I headed over to "Wild Park" for Owen's 2nd Birthday. In case you can't tell from the pictures, the theme was Red Sox. Amanda and Tony planned out baseball related games, trivia and there was tons of delicious food & cake. I enjoy spending time with the Wild/Moran clan and it was great to see Emily & Amanda too! I Can't wait for baby #2, so we can all get together again.
The birthday boy.

The proud parents (and baby brother).

The whole group

Can't forget the games.

Birthday cake. Owen even sang happy birthday himself.

Opening presents - lots of hugs & kisses from Owen.

After the party Amanda B and I headed back to Kittery to meet up with my sister and mom. We decided to stay in to watch Bride Wars, hang out with crazy Sage and rest up for the bridal shower festivities on Sunday.

Signs of Summer

Well summer time is almost here - and Mike has already taken the kayaks out twice. ON Sunday evening he decided to take Sage out on her first adventure. He carried the boat down to the water and I brought Sage down once everything was settled.
She looked a little scared once she was in the boat and didn't really want to sit or lie down. So, Mike would sit with her for a bit, scoot the boat out a little, then get her settled again - repeating this process until they were finally out on the water.
Paddling was a little bit of a challenge as well. The funniest part of the story was when Sage stuck her paw out of the boat thinking she could walk on the water. She was a little startled when her paw actually went into the water, but luckily Mike had a hold of her collar, so she did not go for a swim. Overall the trip went well (maybe that means that I am off the hook as a kayaking buddy (just kidding - Mike))! The next adventure may be a biking trip!

Better Late Than Never

A few updates - which may explain why I haven't posted in a while.

* For the past two weeks I have been working on finishing the write up for my Action Research Project for UNE. I actually ended up finishing it the weekend of graduation - May 9th. It was a huge relief to finally have that done. I haven't received my grade yet, but it should be here soon. Now all I have to worry about is putting together an electronic portfolio of my work and then I will receive my diploma - Master's in General Education.

* Now that my paper is done and over with I can get back to focusing on the wedding plans. I have finally finished the invitations and I was so tired of looking at them that I addressed them and sent them out! I am looking forward to getting the responses back to see who will be joining us for the celebration! Other wedding news - I found my wedding band (Mike is still shopping around), started work on the guest book cards, we ordered the wine and will be working on the labels & other favors soon, and I have my first dress fitting this week! Getting down to the two month work - so lots to be done. Bridal shower to look forward to this weekend.

* Sage is slowly getting back to looking like her normal cute self. She had an interview this weekend for puppy daycare and it went well - she was friendly with the other puppies, so they will take her. Now she can have a little socialization while Mike is at work or she can stay there if we go away for a weekend or something.

* Other exciting news from this weekend - we started house hunting in Scarborough! We went and looked at four houses, but we didn't really like any of them. The house that we really wanted to look at won't be ready until Tuesday, so we'll probably try and sneak a peek later this week. We'll see what happens!

* No news with the job search. For those of you that didn't know I am looking for jobs closer to Scarborough, so that I won't have to commute approximately 45 minutes back and forth. I would really like to find a 5th or 6th grade math, but we'll see what happens with that as well. I will certainly miss the staff, my team and the students at Marshwood Middle School, but I just can't see myself teaching Geometry! YIKES-SCARY!

I am sure there will many things to chat about in the next few weeks, so hopefully I can keep up!
