9th Day of Christmas

2013 Scrapbook

This particular craft I have actually been working on all year.  I decided at the beginning of January to start using Project Life for scrapbooking.  It actually worked out really well, and I was able to keep up. My hope is that I will be able to continue this and it will be a memorable Christmas gift for the family every year.

Here are a few of the highlights from this years album!

Loving Project Life!

In one of my last posts I mentioned that I had discovered Project Life and how I was looking forward to scrap-booking again without taking up so much time!  Well, I just have to update that I absolutely LOVE Project Life.  Not only have I been able to keep up with my 2013 weekly album, but I also finally started a scrapbook for Braden.

I had started an original scrapbook for Braden, but I only made it as far as his birth and just could not keep up.  Twenty months later and it was looking like it was NEVER going to happen.  But, in just over a month I have been able to use Project Life (and the Baby Boy kit) to complete Braden's first year from July 2011 through February 2012.  Now, I know that I will be able to finish it and my plan is to continue up through January 2013 where my other Project Life album picks up.  Then I will end Braden's scrapbook with his monthly t-shirt photos from 18 months - 24 months.

Project Life

I love to scrapbook, but just do not have the time to be as creative as I would like to be with each page.  I have looked into and even tried a few digital options, but creating each page takes just as much time.  I came across this blog, which introduces Project Life and I have decided to give it a try.  More information can be found on the website as well: Project Life.

I wanted to make things as easy as possible, so I ended up ordering Project Life products.  But, it can easily be done with photo album pages and scrapbook paper.  I have decided to do a general family album for 2013.  Each week I am taking little notes and saving specific pictures using both Evernote and Memento apps.  Then every Sunday I order and pick up the pictures I want to use.  One day a week during nap time I am putting the pages together for the previous week.

January - Week 1 & 2
I know that there will be some weeks when nothing exciting really happens, and there inevitably will be weeks where there will be a lot.  But, so far I have completed the first two weeks of January and am happy with the way it has turned out.   I am even thinking about trying to get caught up with Braden's 1st year scrapbook using this method.  I may be ordering the baby edition from Project Life soon.

Week 2 (just missing one photo)
I love that the process is almost as easy as putting together a photo album, with a little more creativity like scrapbooking.  I can be as detailed or as simple as I want to be.  Here's to being able to do something I enjoy in 2013, with out taking too much time!!
